Craig Sivils is a Senior Data Scientist at Sphera, his expert advice has been widely leveraged by the organization including the development team, product management team, and customer implementation team. Over the last 7 years, Craig has specialized in performance tuning and Operational Excellence analytics. Craig’s strong technical background allows him to quickly acquire data sets from some of the most complicated software configurations and his deep safety and risk domain knowledge allows him to interpret data, create hypothesis, and test those hypothesis, turning his work into actionable information that the HSE practitioner can use to improve performance.
This type of knowledge has been gained through 30 years of building, implementing, accessing and tuning mature database applications for some of the largest asset intensive industries in the world. Craig has previously done reporting and performance tuning for the State of Texas, NASA and Compaq computers.
Carrie Young is the Vice President of Consulting Services at Sphera. She has been helping companies with business process transformation and insights for over 20 years. Her unique combination of experience gives her a 360° view into the challenges our customers face every day. Carrie started her career as a process engineer in the chemical manufacturing industry and was trained as a Six Sigma Black Belt.
In a job focused on increasing performance using statistical analysis, she learned about the real data challenges that exist with antiquated measurement systems and the lack of mature database technology. This pushed her into helping companies build strong data management solutions that could be mined for information. Implementing successful solutions required a rigorous understanding of what it takes to set a clear vision for the team, institute organizational change, and run a project management team. Coming full circle, Carrie is now leading a group of experts with a focus on analytics, using math to solve business problems.
John Crosman, Lead Process Safety Consultant has led a team of process safety consultants at Sphera for close to a decade and is a Senior Member of the AIChE. An accomplished facilitator, John has led PHA teams to complete many large-scale risk assessments covering hundreds of P&IDs across many key industries across the world.
He has provided training and support for Sphera’s PHA-pro across the globe, and has successfully helped to build templates for such diverse PSM assessments as HAZOPs, What Ifs, LOPA, alarm rationalization, hierarchy of controls analysis, and many more. John’s experience also covers the broader risk management framework, with understanding of such important activities as incident management, management of change, and tracking of risk assessment actions.
